Services

Medical Infusions

At St Verena Medical Centre, we offer selected medical infusions in a monitored clinical setting for eligible patients who have been referred for treatment. Our infusion services are provided as part of a structured medical process, with referral review, pre-treatment assessment, and clinical oversight where required.

Medical infusions may be recommended for specific conditions where intravenous treatment is part of an established management plan. At St Verena Medical Centre, current medical infusion services include Migraine Infusion and Osteoporosis Infusion.

Our team provides these services in a professional and supportive clinic environment, with patient safety, monitoring, and appropriate medical review built into the process.

Our Medical Infusion Services

Migraine Infusion

St Verena Medical Centre provides preventive migraine infusion for eligible adult patients who have been prescribed treatment by a neurologist. This IV-based preventive treatment is delivered using an infusion pump in a monitored clinical setting.

Migraine infusion appointments are suitable for patients who have already been assessed by their treating specialist and have a current prescription and treatment plan in place. Referral review and acceptance are required prior to booking.

Osteoporosis Infusion

We also provide osteoporosis infusion for eligible patients who require intravenous treatment to support bone health. This includes Zoledronic Acid infusion, also known as Aclasta, where clinically appropriate.

Patients must have a doctor referral and any required pre-treatment assessment completed before being accepted for infusion. This helps ensure treatment suitability and safe administration in the clinic setting.

Who Can Access Medical Infusions

Medical infusions at St Verena Medical Centre are available for patients who meet the clinical requirements for treatment. Depending on the infusion type, this may include:

  • a referral from a neurologist, specialist, or treating doctor
  • a current prescription or treatment plan
  • review of relevant medical history
  • pre-treatment assessment or pathology where required

Eligibility and booking requirements may differ depending on the type of infusion being arranged.

Monitored Clinical Setting

All medical infusions are provided in a monitored clinic environment with appropriate observation during treatment. Our team follows established clinical processes to support safe administration and patient care throughout the appointment.

The length of appointment may vary depending on the infusion being provided, the treating plan, and any observation period required following treatment.

Referral and Pre-Treatment Requirements

Before booking a medical infusion, patients may need to provide supporting documentation so the clinic can review the referral and confirm whether treatment can proceed.

This may include:

  • specialist or GP referral
  • prescription details
  • relevant investigation results
  • recent blood tests or other pre-treatment checks

Our team can advise what information is required for each infusion service.
